Ray Maloney - Collector & Former Outboard Racer

RayMaloney.JPG

Ray not only has a large Envinrude & Johnson collection, he is also a former outboard racer. Ray said he raced from 1946 until 1975 in APBA racing. He raced Champions in the early years & won a trophy in B Hydro in 1957. Ray remembers one particular race in Miami in 1955 as having a huge crowd of both racers and spectators. Ray is retired now, living in Tallahassee, Florida.

Display by Yakety Yak

YaketyYakDisplay.JPG

Yakety Yak, also known as Bob & Geri Parkinson, had a very nice display at Mt. Dora this year. Bob has a collection of old racing boats (both hydros and runabouts) & motors (including several nice Mercs) that he actually puts on the water and runs. Bob & Geri have their own web site at www.yaketyyakboats.com if you'd like to see more photos of their collection.

Racing Display - woman boat racer from the 1930's

Jane-displayboard.JPG

This display contained a boat raced by a woman boat racer named Jane Boartlett. It stated she started racing in 1936 and raced this Jacoby Flayaway model hydro for many years. I wish we could have located the owner to get more information regarding this unique outfit.
